Under the Vines returns to Acorn TV and TVNZ in 2023

 
 

“Sunshine in a bottle” — The Spinoff

1 January 2023:

The charming romantic comedy drama Under the Vines returns in 2023, with Series 2 premiering on Acorn TV in the UK, US and Canada on January 23. TVNZ will also screen the new series of the hit show early in 2023.

Under the Vines stars Rebecca Gibney (Packed to the Rafters, Halifax f.p.) as Sydney socialite Daisy Monroe and Charles Edwards (Downton Abbey, Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power) as ex-London lawyer Louis Oakley, who together are trying to trying to run a struggling Vineyard in southern New Zealand.

As Daisy comes to terms with her new life, Louis tries to repair his old one before returning to England. But ultimately his marriage fails and he stays on to help Daisy run Oakley Wines. The two unlikely partners in wine continue to navigate life in Peak View and its population of quirky locals and Machiavellian rivals. But any chance of romance between the two is muddied when Daisy meets David (Kirk Torrance) the handsome local doctor.

Meanwhile Oakley’s young vintner Tippy has her world is shaken by the arrival of Shimmering Lake’s new rockstar French vintner, Philippe Bidois. And he’s her cousin.

Under the Vines also features a top New Zealand cast including Sarah Peirse (Marissa), John Bach (Don), Trae Te Wiki (Tippy), Simon Mead (Gus), Dean O’Gorman (Griff), Cohen Holloway (Vic), Carrie Green (Nic), Catherine Wilkin (Hilary), and Kirk Torrance (David).
